For my Summer Vacation I flew back to Northern California. Of course, why take the most direct route when one can travel via LAX and fly on two wide-bodies in the process? For the first leg, I selected United flight 193, the daily 747 service back to Los Angeles.
Below is a representative United 747 operating the ORD-DEN leg of flight 193 landing at Denver Stapleton sometime during the spring of 1978.
My photo below shows the runways 25 and 26 at DEN after departing to the south--probably 35L given the height above the ground in this photo. I also vaguely remember the long taxy to the north.
