Ok, Summer Break is over with and back to California. I booked a United DC-8 flight DEN-SFO and was pleased to find a DC-8-61 at the gate when I arrived. At SFO I spent most of the rest of the day there photographing planes from the smaller, less used observation deck that overlooked the Golden Gate Airlines commuter ramp. This date was also a pivotal date for me in my plane watching hobby as I met a couple of English guys who introduced me to a book called "World Airline Fleets" and I was hooked on plane spotting from this day forward. After I got home, I promptly went to a local book store and they kindly ordered the 1978 edition of World Airline Fleets. After I got it I went back through all my photographs and noted as many tail numbers as I could and marked them off in the book. The rest they say, is history.
