After a nice day visiting my buddy Jerry and his housemates, my trip back to PHX via Denver begins. It is a Sunday evening and Jerry drops me off at the International
Terminal at ATL. TSA is virtually deserted so I get through security very quickly...much quicker than had I gone through the domestic side of the airport. I take a look
at the International flights awaiting departure: AF, KL, TK, and VS then make my way to Concourse D for Frontier Airlines.
When I board I find a couple with a doggy sitting in my row. I indicate I have the window but the fellow asks if I wouldn't mind taking the aisle. I agree, rationalizing
it is a night flight and I won't be taking many photos. In the end, an aisle seat several rows ahead is also open, with an empty center seat, and the flight attendant
allows me to relocate there. The couple with the pet will have a little more room, too.
During final approach to DEN it takes me a few moments to determine which runway complex we're heading for. I'm in the aisle seat so I don't have full view outside. Finally
I realize we're making an approach from the south and we end up setting down on Runway 35R. I'd never shot this approach in the dark so it was quite unfamiliar to me.
Below is my photo of N203FR at the gate in ATL prior to my flight to Denver followed by the Flight Aware screenshot.
My first time flying between ATL and DEN. We depart off Runway 8R and arrive DEN on 35R.
