This weekend in October would be my final Alaska trip of 2016...I booked it specifically to head to Barrow in search of Ross's Gull. These small gulls migrate past Barrow this time of year and are usually seen
just offshore. With luck I'd be able to see and photograph at least one of these sought-after birds.
I was able to use Alaska Airlines miles to get a "free" round trip to Barrow but due to short connections at Seattle, I chose to begin my free trip there instead of Phoenix. I purchased a ticket PHX-SEA for $75
so I could take the first flight of the morning and spend the day in Seattle making the rounds at the Boeing airfields.
