Below is one of my photos of part of the PDL ramp shortly after I started roaming around the airport vicinity looking for birds.
After a brief but excellent stay on San Miguel Island it was time to head back to the airport and check in for my flight to Toronto. The cabbie was waiting for me outside the hotel
right on time and whisked me back to the terminal. I took the opportunity to snap some photos of the countryside from inside the cab. I paid him 10 Euros and gave him a modest tip for
his punctuality. Below are a couple photos I snapped on the way to the airport.
Since the airplane stayed at the airport all day after my arrival from Toronto, there was no tracking the inbound flight. I made my way through security and grabbed a quick bite to
eat (a pressed ham and cheese croissant)...quite tasty. I also bought a bottle of water for the flight since mine had been confiscated by security.
Below is my photo of CS-TKN on the PDL ramp as we make our way to the jet. Since I am seated in the extreme rear of the plane I take it upon myself to walk to the rear airstair.
In the photo below the upward slope of the rear cabin is evident in this photo looking forward along the windowline.
I probably first noticed this feature of Airbus widebodies in 1979 while building a 1/144 scale Airfix model of an Eastern A300B.
During taxi and takeoff, I made a video I later posted to YouTube. It can be viewed here.
Below is a screen shot flying
over the Sete Cidadas volcanic crater a few moments after
taking off for Toronto.
Below is my photo of the meal served aboard this flight. Clockwise from upper left: Dessert: Like a pineapple upside-down cake; roll and butter; white wine; chicken, peas, rice and a piece of bacon;
bean curd/tofu (my best guess...it tasted ok but I only ate one wedge of it.)
Below is my photo of SATA A310-325 CS-TKN "Macaronesia" at the gate in Toronto following my flight from Ponta Delgada, San Miguel Island, Azores.
Below that is the Flight Aware screenshot of the flight.
