Weekend of 3-4 December 2016 I revisited the chance to fly on a Delta A330-300 between Atlanta and Phoenix. Despite several interesting options to get to ATL I decided on a ticket on Frontier Airlines from PHX-ATL for Saturday afternoon.
A nonstop routing would minimize any hiccups now that "winter" weather is possible across the U.S.
I arrived PHX around 12pm: plenty of time to make the flight. Once through TSA I found a gate window to watch planes through on this beautiful fall Phoenix afternoon.
I'd researched the expected aircraft for this flight the day before and I was tracking N947FR on my phone as it flew towards PHX from Atlanta.
Before long I spotted the aircraft on long final in the east and soon it landed and rolled out in front of me on runway 26.
