Weekend of 3-4 December 2016 I revisited the chance to fly on a Delta A330-300 between Atlanta and Phoenix.
Despite several interesting options to get to ATL I settled on a ticket on Frontier Airlines
from PHX-ATL for Saturday afternoon.
A nonstop routing would minimize any hiccups now that "winter" weather is possible across the U.S.
After spending a fitful night of unrestful napping in the Atlanta airport Sunday dawned very rainy. I got an iced coffee from McDonalds in E concourse and a Subway sandwich for breakfast.
After
eating I found a window to sit and watch planes until time to board the flight to PHX.
The A330-300 N806NW had operated an overnight flight from Buenos Aires, Argentina and was parked at gate F3 in the International coucourse. This gate is a poor gate for photography of planes parked
there as it has the "immigration hallway" for deplaning passengers. Additionally, views of the port side of the plane (with the jetbridge) were not very usable due to all the raindrops on the
terminal windows. Oh well, a decent photo of the plane would have to wait until I got to PHX.
After a nice flight from ATL to PHX aboard this 12-year old former Northwest Airlines machine I went to Terminal 3 carpark to wait for the flight to depart for Atlanta.
Below is my photo of N806NW on taxiway S enroute to Runway 25R for departure. Below that is the FlightAware screenshot of the flight.
