After nearly two full days of birding around Oahu it was time to head back towards home. My first flight was on a new type for me: the Boeing 717.
Onboard I found the seats to be the new "slimline" type with the
very small fold-down tray table found on LCC carriers like Frontier and Spirit.
Below is my photo of N492HA arriving at the gate in HNL prior to my flight to Kahului, Maui, and below that is the FlightAware screenshot of the flight.

My connection time at OGG was just over an hour. I was looking forward to my flight aboard another Hawaiian Airlines A330 and sitting close to the front in the Economy Plus cabin, and
before long we were en route to LAX on the "red-eye" flight.
Arrival at LAX was just before sunrise. The sky was absolutely free of clouds and it was a spectacular descent and arrival at one of my favorite airports in the world. I posted a YouTube video
of the arrival here.
