Following our Monday-morning arrival at Singapore we had all day until our flight to SFO the next morning. We popped into the hotel to let them know we'd arrived and reconfirm the room for that evening...no problems
there. From there we went to the viewing area in Terminal 1 where I'd spend the rest of the day watching planes through the large picture window. Jeff signed up for the free Singapore tour with a scheduled departure
time of 230pm...he'd have to be back to the gathering point about a half hour prior.
After Jeff arrived back from his tour about 530pm we watched planes for another hour or so until it was nearly sunset. We headed back to T3 and the food court for some dinner. By this time we were quite tired and
really ready to hit the hotel room. I inquired about checking in early and while the room wasn't quite ready they asked us to check back at 8pm. Thankfully the room was ready then and we were allowed to check in
an hour early.
After much-needed sleep in the Terminal 3 Transit Hotel we were ready to head to our departure area. First though we made our way to the observation area in Terminal 1 to see what was parked at the
gates in the pre-dawn darkness. The only thing of significance was a Delta 767-300...a new type for me at Singapore.
Gate 15 was nearly as far down the concourse as possible and 9V-SMG was parked in such a way as to prevent getting a decent photo at the gate. Consolation prizes included quite a few swifts flying
around the area and reasonably good views of the runway and taxiways on this side of the airport.
Below are thumbnails of my photos of Singapore Airlines A350-941 9V-SMG at Singapore gate 15 prior to our departure to SFO. Below that is the FlightAware screenshot of my flight to SFO.
