Arriving back in Honolulu well after dark I checked out planes at the gates and then walked to Enterprise to get my rental car. I went over to Hickam to check on room availability but there
were none available there or at Pearl Harbor so I just slept in the car for 8 hours under a big tree in the base hotel parking lot.
Monday dawned mostly cloudy and I woke up about 6am for the drive to the north shore and the James Campbell National Wildlife Reserve to see some birds. The drive up was pretty decent with lots of
Monday morning traffic in the opposite direction heading into Honolulu. Once I got to the shoreline traffic thinned out considerably and I had a nice drive up to the NWR. Rain was falling
by the time I got there and it really didn't let up on Monday until the afternoon when I was back in Honolulu at the airport watching planes from Hickam AFB.
My flight to Salt Lake City was departing at 10pm so I had all day to watch planes. The car was due back at 7pm so it was perfect timing to take care of everything prior to flight time.
