For Memorial Day weekend I went to Denver to visit my sister who is turning the big Six-Oh on Monday! Originally I planned this trip to try again for my Spirit Airlines A319 ride from LAX to DEN on the Saturday night with a Frontier flight to
PHX Monday night arriving late in the evening. The initial flight to LAX I booked right after the infamous United Airlines debacle of dragging the doctor off the flight, ironically on an Embraer 175 just like the one scheduled to operate
this flight.
Additionally, some recent changes at work just prior to the weekend caused me to rethink the Sunday evening flight to arrive PHX earlier, so I booked an American Airlines flight on an A320...my first ride on such. I also was a little skittish
about the Spirit flight since they've been in the news recently as well with some pilots causing flight cancellations in an effort to earn better compensation. I also wanted to arrive Denver earlier in the evening so my sister wouldn't have to
be picking me up at midnight at the airport. To THAT end I booked an American flight from LAX to DEN onboard an A319...another first for me...and what coincidence: it was operating with the same flight number (430) as my already booked Spirit flight!
So after a quick nights' sleep on the Friday of the holiday (didn't have to work, but stayed in town) I was up very early for my 630am departure to LAX. We made it to LAX a bit early but that meant our gate was occupied and we ended up waiting over
half an hour on the taxiway for our gate. I got to do a little plane watching but I was eager to get off the plane and make my way to Tom Bradley International Terminal for the better views from there.
A major change at the airport I noticed as we rolled out was Delta Air Lines completed their move to the north side Terminals 2 & 3 with those airlines now operating out of Terminal 5. I don't fly DL much so now airlines such as jet Blue, Spirit, Frontier, Hawaiian,
and Virgin America are now all connected airside with the rest of the airlines on the south side of this great airport.

Below is my photo of N164SY at LAX after our arrival. Below that is a photo of N164SY passing by the TBIT operating its next flight of the day to Seattle. Below that is a screenshot of some of the routes N164SY has flown across our country during the rest of the month
of May and below that is a photo of N164SY at Terminal 8 LAX after having come back from Seattle and being prepped for a PHX service. These guys literally criss-cross the country!!
