After arriving EWR on the inaugural scheduled United 787-10 service I eventually made my way to the Newark Airport train station via the Air Train. I'd originally booked an Amtrak trip from Newark to Providence, RI, but with my change of plans I extended it to the end of the line to Boston's South Station.
Once I arrived South Station four hours later, I made my way to Boston Logan on a Silver Line bus. It is a convenient connection but you have to buy a separate ticket for the service. Since it was after 1am by this time I had to wait several hours in the relatively cold airport terminal before TSA opened.
When I made these reservations I had plenty of options for the flight to Atlanta, including a few A321s. As much of an A321 kick as I've been on the past couple of years, I decided to do a 757-200 on this leg. I've flown
on relatively few 757s over the years (only 15 until now) so I gave in. Besides, I booked a Delta A321 for the return to Boston the next day.
Below is my photo of Delta 757-232(W) N6710E at the Boston gate prior to departure for Atlanta.
