For my return trip to PHX I used 12.5k Alaska miles. I signed up for an upgrade and received an email with the First Class
upgrade during Sunday.
I was assigned seat 1A - not my usual preference (I like having underseat storage) but I didn't
argue!
When I got to the airport I entered the general boarding TSA security line, and it was going to be a bit of a wait, with
several switchbacks to go through. Then it occured to my I was holding a First Class boarding pass so I got out of that
queue and fairly quickly progressed through the speedier line. Within just a few minutes I was inside the busy Main Terminal.
My assigned departure gate was N15 but since I had several hours to kill I found my usual window I watch planes from and
settled down for a while. There were still a couple hours of daylight remaining but the weather was pretty dismal.
Below is my photo of Alaska 737-990(ER) N448AS at Gate N15 at Seattle. I took this photo from across the ramp
from the gate C17 area.
