My fourth flight of 2020 and final flight of this extended weekend was my flight back home. Seattle was typically overcast but at least it wasn't raining. I watched
planes from inside the terminal at my typical spot with a clear view of the runways.
I had about six hours to kill before my 6pm departure to PHX. Before heading to my gate I visited the seafood restaurant and got a Shrimp Louie salad and a cup of chowder. I boarded the
tram for the North Concourse and ate dinner at the gate.
While watching planes I was tracking the inbound flight for my plane to Phoenix. I was very pleased it would be operated by a basic 737-990, one with no winglets and non-Extended
Range. Only a few of these planes are flying in the U.S. In 2016 I got to fly aboard N302AS in old colors and now I'd hopefully get N303AS in new colors.
Once onboard I sat in row 28, behind a large family travelling together. Thankfully I had all three seats to myself :-) . Alaska was pretty decent to me this trip: all three flight on
them I didn't have anybody immediately next to me. It was nice to have some room to spread out.
Below is my photo of N303AS arriving Seattle from Denver. This is a basic 737-900, without winglets and still with cockpit "eyebrow" windows. Also note the lack of emergency exit outline behind the wing.
