During our ferry trip to Lanai a couple of days prior, I got the idea to try and visit Molokai, just north of Maui. The ferry service to Molokai and been discontinued but
Mokulele Airlines served Molokai from Maui daily. Convincing Brad to take the last-minute trip wasn't difficult so the next day we booked a short-stay roundtrip flight.
As scheduled, we'd only have an hour or two on the ground at MKK at the airport...maybe enough time to wander around for a bit. But at some point between booking and departure I got an email stating our departure flight was now two hours EARLIER than originally scheduled. Great! Now we'd have even more time to wait between flights at the airport.

As it turned out, not too long after arrival we were able to board an island shuttle bus and go for a little ride on the island. First we went west a few miles to the little
town of Mauanaloa...a quaint little village. After picking up and dropping off various islanders we made our way east to the town of Kaunakakai. Here we were able to disembark and find a place to sit down and have some breakfast.
