I booked this early September trip in mid-July so I could spend some more time on Maui with my buddy Brad. I used Alaska miles for the mainland / Hawaii flight segments and bought Hawaiian Air tickets for the three inter-island flights. After spending the week with Brad my plan was to fly up to Anchorage from Honolulu then down the panhandle on one of Alaska's 'milk run' flights eventually ending up at Seattle. From there it was an evening flight to
Portland and a morning flight home to Phoenix. That's how I booked it. Silly me for thinking I could expect absolutely nothing going wrong during the course of 13 flight segments...with a trip finishing on September 13th. At least
that date wasn't a Friday.
