Final flight of this weekend trip. When booking this trip just a few days ago I decided to work in a flight on an Alaska Airlines A321neo. I knew their service with Alaska Airlines was coming to an end very soon so I bit the bullet and paid for this flight. My Alaska Airlines Milege Plan account is nearly empty after the weekend's flights.
After arriving from Anchorage via Juneau, Petersburg, Wrangell, and Ketchikan the previous night I had to sleep in the SEA-TAC terminal overnight. Early after arriving I accidentally left my binoculars in a baggage trolley basket when fetching my gear for the escalator ride down to the inter-terminal tram. I only realized this once onboard the tram so I immediately wroth them off as a gift to whomever found them.
I grabbed a Shrimp Louie salad from the restaurant and plopped myself down near a window to watch planes in the dark...an activity made more difficult now that I was without binoculars. I finally layed down in situ, covered myself with a travel blanket and attempted to get some sleep. I could've found quieter digs but I just made do.
About 4am or so I woke up, gathered my stuff and made my way to the restroom to clean up and change clothes. I found another baggage trolley so I was able to roll my two carry-ons around versus mule them. After three full days of being on the road I really appreciated the ability to just roll the stuff.
Down at the B Concourse I found an plane with a paint job I didn't even knew existed: the American Airlines Piedmont heritage A321. The AA heritage A319s had recently been painted into the standard AA colors and I wasn't aware they were planning on carrying on the practice with A321s. It was a nice surprise.
