In mid-October I finally decided to fly somewhere for the first time this year. I've logged flights every year since 1976...with 1993 the only year I didn't fly somewhere comercially. I did take three general aviation flights out of the Travis AFB Aero Club. At that time it was still situated at Travis AFB. During research just now, I see it has moved to Rio Vista, California a fair distance to the east off of Route 12.

Anyway, I chose a quick day-trip to Seattle so I could visit Renton and Boeing Field to see what new 737s were out and about. At the time Boeing were on strike so airliner production was halted across the country.

I was able to use some Alaska Miles for the trip up while purchasing a revenue ticket for the return the following day via Portland.

After parking my car off-airport at PHX and getting the shuttle to Terminal 3, I was first in line at TSA when I arrived and proceeded smoothly through security. I wandered around T3 south for a little while to see what Frontier and Delta planes had stayed overnight before heading over to T3 north to see Alaska, United, and the Hawaiian Air 787.

Surprisingly we parked at the South Satellite Terminal at Seattle upon arrival. We pulled in right next to the new overhead passenger bridge and parked next to the Alaska MAX 8 painted in Honoring Those Who Serve colors...very patriotic.

Hawaiian Air 787-9 N781HA. Currently, Hawaiian Air's two 787-9s are rotating HNL-LAX-HNL and HNL-PHX-HNL for crew familiarity training. Supposedly, HA will bring the A330-200 back to PHX after 25 April 2025 while deploying a 787 on OGG-LAX-OGG.
