After a quick day exploring around Renton and Boeing Field I settle into the rental car to get some rest before turning the car in early the next morning. I had to refuel and was kind of shocked to pay nearly $5.50 a gallon. Thankfully I didn't drive very much...I think I used less than three gallons...but years ago I'd have filled the tank for price this top-off cost. Oh well.
Once I was back in the terminal after catching the rental car shuttle around 3am, I settle into the food court where there are rocking chairs similar to Charlotte, NC airport. Sunrise was still some hours away and there wasn't much moving around the airport. I did log a Starlux A350 taxying out for Taipei...FR24 shows it departed SEA at 0326hrs.
I also noticed the space adjacent to my favorite viewing window has been re-purposed to include a state lottery kiosk. The small shoeshine stand is still present off to the left a bit. This spot has become somewhat less useful since Horizon Air has replaced all Q400 flights with Embraer jets. The associated boarding bridges block more of the useful view of the taxiway now so all-in-all this recent development isn't of much consequence to me anymore...see photo below.
Come flight time I made my way to departure gate C16A and waited to board.
