I forgot to take a photo of the gate flight display for this flight:
When I checked in for my flight to San Diego in Honolulu I learned the Max 8 would be continuing on to Phoenix! I guess the one-stop HNL-SAN-PHX wasn't an option when I made my last-minute booking on Monday night before my Tuesday morning flight. After deplaning at SAN I did ask gate agent about staying on this flight but I'd have to go to the back of the boarding queue with a "C" boarding position. As I'd already paid $25 for Early-bird Check-in HNL-SAN-PHX, I passed. Besides, it gave me a chance to fly two different planes...and oh boy...change terminals at SAN and do TSA again!!
During my layover at San Diego, my relatively expensive Canon RF100-500 lens autofocus failed. Manual focus was also not working reliably. At least it didn't fail during my brief time on Oahu the past two days!! Thankfully I had another camera and lens with me so I was able to make some 24-105mm snaps with it...including this photo of N204WN arriving San Diego from San Jose continuing on to Phoenix:
