Less than a week later, I made a weekend trip to Phoenix to visit my new buddy Adrian Smith. Southwest was leasing six 727-200s prior to the introduction of 737-300s so I made sure
to book a flight that was scheduled to operate with a 727-200. I was not disappointed!
For the return trip to LAX I'd booked a flight on America West that was scheduled to operate with one of the three 737-100s America West operated. Again, I was not dissapointed with
my choice of flights. America West eventually went on to operate five 737-100s though this was my only flight aboard one.
Below is my photo of N701AW at LAX after arriving from PHX.
